Colleges Fight Google Ads That Reroute Prospective Students

The Chronicle of Higher Education: “Colleges spend hundreds of millions of dollars per year on search-engine advertising, and most of it is legitimate. But the search-engine marketing industry has always had a dark side, and lead-generation Web sites like CollegeBound are under constant pressure to find ways to deliver prospective students to their clients, which can pay $25 or more per lead.”
